Our rod breakdown lines draw copper and aluminium rod into wire for conductor production and further drawing. Choose a material-specific SD450, MSD450 or MMD450 configuration, with single- or two-wire options where listed.
- SD450: geared drive with 2-3 motors.
- MSD450: compact, two-level individual drives.
- MMD450: individual capstan drives with adjustable elongation at each drawing die.
- Low-slip control on the multi-motor series reduces capstan wear and operating noise.

Common Questions
How do rod breakdown and intermediate drawing differ?
Rod breakdown starts from copper or aluminium rod. Intermediate and fine drawing further reduces pre-drawn wire. Choose the process from your feedstock and target finished-wire diameter.
Which inlet rod sizes are listed?
Copper configurations list 8.00 mm rod. Aluminium configurations list 9.50-12.50 mm rod. Select the corresponding material and series row; do not combine values from different configurations.
Do all series offer two-wire production?
No. SD450 and MMD450 list 1-2 wires; MSD450 lists one wire. Confirm the drawing schedule and required production arrangement before ordering.
Is the maximum speed available at every wire diameter?
The sheet lists 30 m/s for SD450 and 35 m/s for MSD450 and MMD450. These are reference maximums, not guaranteed output at every diameter. The operating point depends on material and configuration.
